I created (bgx:mag) in 2007 as an attempt to reconnect after a 10 year absence from any involvement in arts and publishing.
Having been a magazine editor and contributor of texts before, my first instinct was to try and set up a sort of personal magazine, in which I can publish some texts of my own and by others, taking advantage of the freedoms that self-publishing in an online format provides.
However, over time it has become more of a showcase of my work as a painter, with rarely updated texts. Needing to republish the site in a more mobile friendly format, I’m taking the opportunity to pare it down and make it more of that: a showcase/portfolio of sample work, in a maybe narrative format.
I’m keeping the name, though, as it has by now become a sort of a brand for my work.
Enjoy.
